The IAF stands in solidarity with the anti-G8 protesters in Scotland who took a stand against the powerful men who represent a global system of exploitation and injustice. We are aware that any promises made by these politicians, as in previous summits, are worthless. They have no intention of doing anything about global warming or poverty. Their only goal is to maintain capitalism and the power of their States. The only solution to these and other serious world problems is for ordinary people, in all parts of the world, to take control of their own workplaces, communities and lives.

We recognise that the police's role has been to squash the alternative voices struggling to be heard above the distortion and lies of the politicians and mass media, and the ineffectual, patronising, self-promoting profiteering of the celebrity rock stars. Therefore, these forces of the State must be challenged and resisted. We must unite to support those arrested and, most importantly, to carry this culture of resistance into the struggles of the working class in our day-to-day lives.
